Indian Prairie Library is participating in the Big Library Read with libraries across the country. This year’s selection The Fours Corners of the Sky by Michael Malone is a funny and warm-hearted look at how we love and forgive. The title is available to all library patrons as an eBook from May 15th to June 1st. Download the book from eMediaLibrary and participate in a discussion of the book on Goodreads.

The Computer area has a new scanner for public use.  It has all the features of the old scanner (scan your document or photo to printer, email, USB drive, or Google Docs) as well as a new option for sending documents to a smart phone or tablet and an editing function for cropping while keeping the original document.  Come in and give it a try.

The Federal Reserve introduced Money Smart Week to help consumers improve their personal finances. We’re hosting two events: Join us on Tuesday, April 23 at 1:00 to Get Money Smart. Brian Ahern from Financial Ratings Series will demonstrate how to find the safest bank or credit union, the best mutual funds and stocks, and evaluate insurance companies.

On Wednesday, April 24 at 6:00, discover Money Smart Apps. Save time and money with these free or low cost apps for your smartphone or tablet. Bring your device and follow along.
