Sustainable Saturday in Lisle

Annual Sustainable Saturday returns to Benedictine Univ. on April 20, 2013 from 9 a.m. to noon. Diverse, hard to recycle items accepted including fluorescent light bulbs, washers/dryers, stoves, copiers, scrap metal, lawn furniture, oxygen tanks & more. Woodridge Rotary Club Recycling Extravaganza
When: Sat., May 18, 8 a.m. to noon.
Where: Woodridge Park District’s Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park (8301 S. Janes Avenue, Woodridge, IL).
This annual community event is scheduled for May 18, 2013 from 8 a.m. to noon. The Woodridge Rotary Recycling extravaganza continues to be a huge success thanks to the many volunteers, community groups, and residents who take the time to clean up their town and recycle responsibly. The City of Darien would like to thank residents for another successful Holiday Lights Recycling program.  Over 1800 pounds of holiday lights were collected to be recycled this year.  The city was paid $280.95, and residents helped prevent 1873 pounds of lights from being put into the landfill!

Help change someone’s future. Become an adult literacy tutor today. Literacy DuPage is a nonprofit, community-based organization that provides accessible and customized tutoring for adults. These tutor training sessions will prepare you to tutor other adults so that they can read, write, speak, and understand English.
