The library retains 3 months worth of past newspapers.

Chicago Area Newspapers contains the full text of the Chicago Sun-Times from 1986 to the present, plus The Doings, Suburban Life, Daily Herald, SouthtownStar, and much more.

Chicago Tribune Historical Archives contains the full text of the Chicago Tribune from 1849 to 1985. Browse front pages by date, search obituaries by name, and explore the news archive by date, era, or presidency.

InfoTrac Newsstand is a collection of state and country newspapers, including The New York Times from 1985-present.

Advertising Age (Indian Prairie collection)
The Ad Age Web site features highlights from the most current issues, interactive features, and a job bank. Access to certain features and an archive going back to 1995 requires free registration.

Chicago Reader
The Chicago Reader's Web site offers selected free articles from the weekly publication as well as a fee-based archive of past articles dating back to 1998. Users will also find searchable databases of its classifieds, restaurant reviews, and Arts & Entertainment guide.

Chicago Sun-Times (Indian Prairie collection)
The Chicago Sun-Times Web site includes the most current paper and links to free Chicago related email addresses. At this point, however, it does not link to back issues.

Christian Science Monitor (Indian Prairie collection)
The Christian Science Monitor Web site offers a complete version of the most recent paper. The site also includes an archive where copies of articles as far back as 1980 can be purchased for a fee.
Access CNN's world and national news online.

Daily Herald (Indian Prairie collection)
This site is a complete version of the latest paper with links to local news, organized by county, and a search tool that gives readers access to the past seven days of the paper. The archive search provides access to papers and photos less recent than seven days, although there may be a charge for retrieving these articles.

Detroit Free Press
The site contains a complete version of today's paper, nearly two years of browsable newspapers, and an extensive archive dating back to 1982 (fee).

Suburban Life, Reporter, and Progress Newspapers (Indian Prairie collection)
This general site covers a number of suburban Chicago papers, with the information arranged by county, and then by specific paper with links to current headlines. There are no links to back issues.

The Times
The Times, out of London, England, focuses on international issues as well as those related to England. It contains almost everything that appears in its print edition including several regional interests, like Arts and a Weekend section. The Web site offers not only the current paper, but also free access to articles back to 1996. However, article retrieval is somewhat limited.

USA Today (Indian Prairie collection)
The USA Today Web site offers a full version of today's paper and access to the articles from yesterday's paper. Articles as far back as April 1987 can be obtained from the site's archive for a small fee.

The Washington Post (Indian Prairie collection)
The Washington Post online contains a Web version of today's paper, free access to two weeks of past articles, and a searchable database of issues dating back to 1977. As with many other papers, however, retrieving old articles requires a small fee.
