Our Book Clubs Are Back!

“Fall” back into reading with one of our September book discussions.

Novel Idea is for readers who like to delve into a book’s characters, plots, setting, and themes. Drop in at the library on the second Wednesday of the month (September-May) at 7 p.m.
Next meeting: Wednesday, Sept. 14, 7-9 p.m.
Book: Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout (2008)

Crime Readers is for those who like unraveling clues, interpreting evidence, and analyzing characters. We partner with the Woodridge Public Library to bring crime readers together on the third Thursday of the month (September-May). Meets at 6 p.m. for dinner (optional) and 7 p.m. for discussion at Home Run Inn Pizza, 7521 Lemont Rd. in Darien.

Book: A Death in Vienna by Daniel Silva (2004)

GenLit is for 20-30 somethings. Join us for drinks, dinner, and discussion on the fourth Wednesday of the month (January-October) at 6:30 p.m. at various local restaurants. Find GenLit on Facebook.

Book: Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari (2015)

Short on Time is our group for those who can’t commit to lengthy books and monthly meetings. Meetings take place every other month (except summer) and the group reads novellas and short stories. Drop in at the library.

GenLit: A New Generation of Book Club!

Our GenLit book group, especially for 20-30somethings, meets for drinks, dinner, and discussion at various local restaurants on the fourth Wednesday of the month January through October. The group’s July discussion will focus on The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey. The group will meet on Wednesday, July 23, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Home Run Inn Pizza, 7521 Lemont Rd. in Darien. In August, the group’s discussion will focus on Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh. The group will meet Wednesday, August 27, starting at 6:30 p.m. at The Sweet & Savory Spot, 31 N.
