Hatching Soon!

The library is partnering with the Darien Dragons 4H Club for an incubation project. Two dozen eggs are now housed in an incubator in our Kids & Teens Department, and approximately 6-8 white leghorn chicks are expected to hatch in early May. Join us over the next few weeks as we:

  • Observe the eggs
  • Meet the baby chicks
  • Host activities in the WouldShop
  • Explore the science and tools that turn an egg into a chicken at our Mini-Scientist Academy: Eggs to Chicks event for grades K-3 on Friday, April 21, 4-5 p.m. Register here.
  • Learn more about incubation, eggs, and chickens
