In June 2010 IPPL received an Illinois State Historical Records Advisory Board (ISHRAB) grant to share the cost of converting twenty-two bound volumes of the Darien DuPage Progress 1979-1987 to microfilm. IPPL had the only copies of these volumes which were starting to turn yellow and brittle. The ISHRAB grant provided IPPL with the opportunity to preserve and make more accessible a piece of our community’s cultural and historical heritage. The microfilmed volumes are part of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library (ALPL) collection. As part of ALPL’s holdings, the microflim is available to genealogists and researchers nationwide through interlibrary loan.
