The Indian Prairie Public Library is seeking a part-time Interlibrary Loan Page. If you love working with people consider joining our team. Job duties include retrieve items on daily list from the shelves, check in the RAILS van delivery, assist with regular check in and rough sort, sort and route RAILS delivery, and check shelves for claim returns.
The library is looking for people with enthusiasm and ideas. We offer a dynamic, engaging team environment that values initiative and each individual. Applicants must have a commitment to excellent customer service, a friendly manner and a sense of humor. Other requirements include:
• Ability to arrange in alphabetical and numerical order (test required).
• Ability to learn check-in procedures.
• Must be able to accurately retrieve items from the shelves, check in, trap holds and route to the appropriate destination.
• Ability to move loaded book carts and bins and to lift and shelve library materials.
• Practical knowledge of computers.
• Must have excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with public and staff in English, both oral and written.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
This position is a part-time, year round position averaging 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday 12-3 p.m. The salary is $8.88 per hour. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.

Summer Youth Services Associate
The Indian Prairie Public Library is seeking two friendly, flexible part-time Summer Youth Services Associates. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who like to have fun while helping others. We offer a dynamic, engaging team environment that values creativity and collaboration.
Job duties include assisting with readers advisory and basic reference questions, assisting the public in using electronic resources including computers, iPads, and eReaders, and assisting with our Summer Reading Challenge – Homemade Readers. Associates may also assist with planning, preparing and presenting weekly outreach programming to youth.
Qualifications include two years of college and experience working with the public. At least one year of experience working with children, families, and teens is preferred. Students working towards an MLS are encouraged to apply.
This temporary position is 18 hours per week, including daytime, evening and weekend hours – the starting salary is $9.39 per hour. Positions will start in May and end mid-August 2015.
The Indian Prairie Public Library District is located in Darien Illinois serving 42,000 residents in the communities of Darien, Willowbrook and Burr Ridge.
