Building Services Associate
Indian Prairie Public Library is seeking an energetic, customer service oriented, handyperson for this part-time position. This position is 25 hours per week; applicants must work weekday mornings. The salary is $ 12.48 per hour and includes IMRF pension plan and paid vacation, sick and personal time.

The ideal applicant will:
• Be handy with tools and able to perform minor repairs
• Have familiarity with building operations such as painting, plumbing, and electrical work
• Be a “neat freak” who enjoys cleaning and keeping things organized
• Be flexible
• Take pride in the appearance of the building
• Enjoy being a part of a team environment

Qualifications:
High school or equivalent; Five or more years of work experience; Experienced as a handyperson, carpenter, or repair person is required; Must be available weekday mornings; Some evening or weekend work may be required; Must be available on call for emergencies; Must have a valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.

Job Duties include:
Oversee all interior and exterior maintenance; Provide friendly and responsive customer service to members and staff ; Inspect building regularly for cleaning, painting, and repair issues; Perform minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs and maintenance; Set up or move furniture or equipment as required, including meeting spaces; Responsible for regular painting, touch ups and wall repair.

Security Monitor – Three Openings Available
Indian Prairie Public Library is seeking an energetic, customer service oriented person with excellent communication skills for this part-time position. This position is an average of 10 hours per week. Position A and B each work two weekday evenings; Position C alternates between Friday evening and Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 1pm-5pm. The salary is $ 12.48 per hour.

• Take pride in the appearance of the building and address cleaning or maintenance needs as required

High school diploma or equivalent; Five years work experience; at least two years of experience working with the public where problem solving was required; Must be available on call for emergencies; Must be able to work evenings and weekends

Job Duties include:
Monitor the activity of library users, maintain order, and resolve discipline problems that occur within the library or on its grounds; Provide excellent customer service and hospitality assuring positive member experiences; Assist staff members as needed; Educate library users on appropriate behaviors and enforce library policy as necessary; Patrol the public areas of the library at least every 30 minutes and stay apprised of potential trouble-spots or individuals; Set up or move furniture or equipment as required, including meeting spaces; basic clean-up and maintenance duties as needed.
