Digital Collections

The library has partnered with the Darien Historical Society, the Flagg Creek Heritage Society, the Village of Willowbrook, and local residents to document the histories of Darien, Willowbrook, and Burr Ridge online. The digital collections include:

Veterans’ History Project
Read over one hundred interviews recorded from area veterans as part of the Veterans History Project.

Print Collection
Images of America: Darien and other titles related to the history of DuPage County, Burr Ridge, and Willowbrook.

Hinsdale South High School Vespa yearbooks, 1967 to date (missing 1970).

Darien Senior Club, 1974-2002

Darien Woman’s Club scrapbook of the Darien Volunteer and Darien Public Libraries.

IPPL Obituary Index 1972-
Search the obituary index (1972- ) which  is updated throughout the year, but published annually online. With over two thousand entries, the file indexes obituaries of people who resided in or whose funeral services were held in Darien, Willowbrook, or Burr Ridge.

Cass Cemetery Records
The library has a print copy of the cemetery records which are also available to search via Find a Grave. Cass Cemetery is located west of Bailey Road and North of Frontage Road in Darien.
