New Resources for Students

Another school year is just around the corner and the library has new resources to help students of all ages! Try MasterFILE Premier when looking for primary sources, newspaper and magazine articles, and images on a variety of subjects.

If you’re working on a science project, use Science Reference Center for encyclopedias, journals, images, videos, and much more. As always, contact a reference librarian for all of your research needs. We can be reached by email, text, phone at (630) 887-8760 ext. 241, or stop by the first floor Ask Us Desk.

New Computer Tutorials Now Available

Use Job & Career Accelerator to learn basic computer skills with tutorials ranging from an introduction to the computer to email etiquette and understanding social networking. Also improve your computer software skills on programs from Adobe Photoshop to Microsoft Excel (featuring four levels from beginning to expert).

We’ll introduce another new resource next week. Explore on your own by visiting our Research Databases page.

Check Your Bank or Insurance Co. with Financial Ratings Series

Want to check on your bank or credit union? Or perhaps you need to compare insurers – from life and annuity to property and casualty to health. Maybe you want another rating of stocks and mutual funds. Now you can do so online from home with Financial Ratings Series from Weiss Ratings and TheStreet Ratings.

We’ve got more new databases to share — so check back next week for the latest resources from Indian Prairie Public Library.

eBook Updates

Update: As of 11:30am, access to eMediaLibrary accounts has been restored. If you still cannot see you holds or items on your bookshelf, please contact us at (630) 887-8760 ext. 239.

Your password for our eBook catalog, eMediaLibrary from Overdrive, has changed. Instead of your last name, you will use the PIN from the SWAN online catalog to log in. If you don’t already have a SWAN account, you will need to create one.

Unfortunately, during the transition, there was a glitch. Any items that you had on your holds shelf, your bookshelf, or your wish list do not appear when you log in to your account. This issue should be fixed by Friday evening. We will let you know when accounts have been restored.

If you have any questions, please contact the Ask Us Desk at (630) 887-8760 ext. 239.
