You still have time if you want to see The Rainmaker at Mayslake Peabody Estate in
Oakbrook, Wednesday – Sunday through September 1.  Our staff member Hugh attended the Rainmaker at First Folio Theater’s opening night in its outdoor theater and says, ” The Rainmaker character had only began his magic charms and motions when the sky erupted with  thunder, lightning and downpour, scattering audience and cast to cars and shelter.  On
a later night, the Rainmaker was less effective in bringing deluge, but did
bring blessings and benefit to the family who had originally thought him a fraud
and swindler.  I enjoyed this heartwarming, funny play of family
quarrels and dilemma of what to do about the spinster daughter.”  The library owns the film version  or you can request the play.
