Indian Prairie Public Library is seeking a Guest Services Page. The schedule available is listed below. Job duties include checking in materials, sorting materials for shelving, loading and moving book carts and return bins, shelving materials, and answering patron direction questions. 

We offer a dynamic, engaging team environment that values each individual.  Applicants must have a commitment to excellent customer service, be able to work independently, and have a friendly manner. Other requirements include: 

  • Ability to shelve library materials accurately.
  • Ability to arrange items in alphabetical and numerical order (test required).
  • Ability to learn check-in procedures.
  • Practical knowledge of computers.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to move loaded book carts and bins.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and staff in English, both oral and written.

This position averages 14–16 hours per week; must be able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, alternating Saturday afternoons, and some Sunday afternoons:

Schedule B:

Tuesday: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Thursday: 5 - 9 p.m.

Friday: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Every other Sat.: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Every 5th Sunday: 1 - 5 p.m.

The salary is $15.30 per hour. Applicant must be at least 16 years of age.
